When Morten Hallgren first started producing wine in the Finger Lakes region of NY, back in 2001, he was the only winemaker holding a formal degree from Europe. Since then, he has won numerous awards and accolades for transforming the style of winemaking in the region to the dry Rieslings and reds we have become familiar with.
This Cabernet Franc is no exception to his high quality of winemaking, which forgoes the use of herbicides or insecticides. Boasting flavors of cranberries, raspberries, mountain herbs and just the right hint of spice this has become one of my regular go-to options. Sustainably grown in Geneva, NY and layered with notes of cranberries, raspberries, mountain herbs & hints of spice. Medium bodied with good structure.
It is a versatile wine that pairs with many different cuisines from French Onion soup and a burger to a mushroom and herbs pasta dish.
