Since 1972, Chalk Hill has been producing exceptional chardonnays out of Sonoma County. This bottling has fruit sourced from Foley Family estate, Sonoma Los Carneros and the Russian River Valley—all these cool climate sites have a strong influence from the fog coming off of the Pacific Ocean and San Pablo Bay. The variety of different soils—sandy clay loam from the Russian River Valley and sedimentary clay loam from Sonoma Los Carneros—provides a variety of texture and nuance to this lovely Chardonnay. Balanced acidity intermingles with mineral notes that complement the rich and full flavors of fresh pear, orange peel and toasted almond.
Food pairings include artichoke dip, hummus, pasta with cheese-based sauces, and fish and meat in butter-based sauces.
